Theatre Conspiracy’s award-winning interactive show Foreign Radical tours to the United Kingdom this fall. The show premiered at Vancouver’s The Cultch in 2015, with a successful remount in Vancouver in February 2017. Foreign Radical toured Canada with performances at The Carrefour international de théâtre festival in Quebec City and The High Performance Rodeo in Calgary. The show was performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017, where it garnered a Fringe First Award.
Foreign Radical tours the UK from Sept. 17 to Oct. 13, 2018 with performances at the ArtsDepot (London) and The New Theatre Royal (Portsmouth), plus The Head’s Up Festival (Hull), Paint the Town Festival (Medway) and Strike a Light Festival (Gloucester) as part of Battersea Arts Centre's Collaborative Theatre Network circuit.
A recipient of the Critics’ Choice Innovation Award at the 2015 Jessie Awards and named Top 10 Vancouver Theatre Shows in 2015, Foreign Radical is a multimedia experience with multilingual elements in English, Farsi and Arabic. Each performance is unique in that the audience dynamic influences the outcome.
Foreign Radical invites thirty participants into an intriguing theatrical game that explores security, profiling, freedom of expression, and privacy in the age of cybersurveillance. Mobile throughout the performance, the participants collaborate, compete, investigate, debate, and spy on each other.
